Shop with me: Killstar

Let's go see what's new over at Killstar! This brand is probably my favorite nugoth brand...my favorite goth brand in general. I only own one of their hooded dresses, which I've never worn yet lol. And their awesome pentagram earrings.

First up is a post-apocalyptic looking sweater... Way overpriced and kind of dated looking. Pass. The Bardot top looks exactly like an American Apparel top that's cheaper and fits better. I love how the AA top looks, but I'm not buying something I can't wear a bra with. The velvet halter looks chic even if it's not fitted. Lucky you if you can pull this off without a bra. Lol the sad goth crop top is just asking for smart-ass comments from jerks and family, and I can't imagine any goth subjecting themselves to that kind of harassment. Did my uncle design this?

I'm not a fan of coffin bags or coffin wallets but these look nice and I'm sure mall goths have depleted the whole stock by now. I gotta say, I'm surprised to see the belted pentagram miniskirt ... This looks so dated to me, very 00s. Wear this with your New Rock boots and you're all set. Especially with the kilt design... I'd totally wear that to a KoRn concert. But the 00s are coming back, so......... The velvet skirt is a classic and great everyday piece.

The rayne mesh maxi looks cool. I don't know when square skirts came back, but they look awesome. If I had to choose between the Aurora socks and the moon socks, I'd choose the latter for the bolder design and I hate ruffles. Lol again with the sad goth. At least it's not across your chest lol.

If I had to choose between the chaos street smart tunic and the bone crush skater dress, I would choose the former. It reminds me of a Shadowrun mage with the hood. Omg another Sad Goth thing. See you in the sale rack. The other sassy shirt quit bugging me is less stupid, but I'd rather just have wanted a moth kimono dress. Moths are cool.

Hood dresses are cool, even with the distressed thing going on. Ok, so, I loved the next 3 pentagram hardware dresses and knew I was going to get one. The Bardot dress is so cool I was almost going to waive my 'if I can't wear a bra with it, I can't buy it' rule. The bodycon dress is also amazing...but it's a bit too sexy for everyday--even for me--and I've got more than enough "special occasion" stuff to last a lifetime. So I got the Ziva She's Evil Velvet dress. It's a good length and has awesome angel sleeves and I can pull this off at the office.
Ok so I love all the pentagram necklines like in the Hexx bodysuit. And I love how the mesh shows off her tattoos. I'd go for the striped tights over the striped stockings. Striped Alice in Wonderland socks scream mall goth to me, though the sheer is a nice touch. Ripped leggings-- girl, put that back on the rack. You can DIY this.
Another Chaos dress, minus the hood? Pass--hoods ftw. OMG the Mystic Hannah dress is so awesome. It reminds me of art deco Erte stuff. Gorgeous! The Nocturne Angel Sleeve dress bills itself as an everyday wardrobe staple, and I could see that. You can dress this up or down, and it doesn't have the wizard sleeves and hood like some of the more extreme Killstar styles (which I love...go big or go home). H&M will knock this off in 3...2... The Spellbound tunic dress is a shapeless black thing, which will look good with many a patterned legging.

Hope you enjoyed shopping with me. Any thoughts on the Killstar new items?

  1. This is it. It's my 10th anniversary of being in gothic subculture and when I see these I think I went back to when I was just beginning >D I only need to see return of wide bondage pants with reflective tape for this to be complete.
I mean, it's not a compliment, this collection is garbage, except for these two you also liked best - Ziva She's Evil (but without the pentagam please... also who designs the names, lol) and Mystic Hannah Maxi, which looks like it's just a longass rectangle fold in two and should be easy to make.

    1. Lol yeah it's a rectangle with some holes in it, but the sleeve hole is not at the corner but further in. Very easy to diy, lol which is why I didn't get it. It's 90bucks for a rectangle fabric

  2. I always love your comments lol. I got pretty intense 00s vibes from this as well. Love the moon socks, ahoy Berlin techno hipsters! My favorite part was the shapeless black thing, will go with any style.

  3. I kinda like the fabric of those chaos dresses...and the Mystic Hannah dress, but seriously...I haven't looked at the prices yet, but I'm almost sure it's got a ridiculous price tag for such a simple design...

  4. I am constantly joking about how all of life is pain and suffering, I totally would wear the Sad Goth Tshirt xD Strangers would probably take it a little too literally but I'm sure my friends would have a good laugh about it.

  5. I personally LOVE the Gallows Destroy Everything knit. I think in my closet somewhere I have a short-sleeved cropped version of that which I bought on some ill-advised Killstar shopping spree last year. I am attracted to things that look hella dated because I am always late to the party and behind the times.
